We all have to breathe, right? And yet over 90% of us don’t breathe properly and do so in a way that is positively DAMAGING our health and SHORTENING our time on this beautiful planet.
Try this simple breath test - especially important if you often feel stressed and anxious, or you suffer with insomnia.
You can do it sitting or lying down.
Put your right hand on your chest and left hand on your belly. Close your eyes. Inhale fully taking your deepest breath.
Do it three or four times.
Notice whether your left hand or right hand rises first, or greater than the left hand.
Right hand? left hand? both? neither?
If your chest hand rises and you belly hand hardly moves, then you take note - you may be making your life much worse than it needs to be, leading to chronic stress, anxiety and diseases.
We run this basic test in my breath coaching course to assess your breath. From there I work with you to transform your breathing in a way that will impact on your health and wellbeing for the rest of your life.
Poor sleep, anger, irritability, tiredness, low energy and exhaustion are all signs that your nervous system is in fight or flight mode for most of the time.
